August-October 2024

The field season has started in Iraqi Kurdistan, where, as part of the project Investigation of the settlement of peripheral micro-regions of Iraqi Kurdistan on the emergence of Paleolithic and Christian communities in the Nahla valley, 2022/45/B/HS3/03501, two cultural heritages of Mesopotamia will be inventoried.

July 2024
Another volume in the SHIK series has been published, this time devoted to the study of material derived from the Hassuna-Niniwa 5 periods. I have worked with Xenia Kolińska and Dorota Ławecka on the editing of this book - I am grateful to them for their cooperation, which has enriched me as editor as well as author. I would also like to thank Dr Annna Bach Gómez, who presented the Halaf period, Dr Anna Smohorzewska, who worked on the Ubaid period, and Dr Katarzyna Pyżewicz for her work on the lithics meterial. A tremendous effort, not only as an editor but also as an author, was contributed by Prof. Dorota Ławecka with her reflections on the settlement dynamics of the Hassuna, LC 1-2, LC 3-5 and Nineveh 5 periods.
I invite you to read:
Material Studies: Pottery, Lithics,
Settlement History of Iraqi Kurdistan, vol. 11/1.
